An imaginary trip through Barcelona thanks to Lluís Bussé, until September 10th. Have you ever thought about how the city would be if its most emblematic places were placed differently? The photographer Lluís Bussé has, and from that curious idea comes what is now an exhibit that you can see in Sala 2 of the Palau Robert.
The parallel universe of “Barcelona’s Multiverse” proposes things as crazy as the Sagrada Familia on the beach of Mar Bella, the Agbar Tower in Parc Güell, and surfers invading Plaça Catalunya, which are just a few examples of what you will find in the photomontages which make up the exhibit.
It's another Barcelona, a Barcelona that could exist in a parallel universe and which Bussé, a Doctor of Philosophy with a degree in Fine Arts, has created visually after traveling through the real Barcelona and taking thousands of photographs.
To make this possible the photographer has combined disciplines, he has mixed art and science, and has associated photography with cosmology, adapting the multiverse theory, or multiplicity of universes, which comes from the mathematician Hugh Everett.
“Barcelona’s Multiverse” is divided into three sections, which show respectively the already mentioned relocation of the most emblematic buildings and places, a Barcelona with canals in the style of Venice, and another built on the beach and sea. Outside of the exhibit you can find the photographs, in black and white, in the book of the same name which has been published in English through a collaboration with the Barcelona City Council.
If you are in Barcelona Urbany Hostel and want to have another vision half real, half dream of Barcelona, the youngest and most modern hostel in Barcelona you recommend!

Barcelona Urbany Hostels, also known as backpacker’s hostel, have transformed from dormitory style youth accommodations to social centers designed to go easy on your wallet and heavy on the travelling experience. Hostels provide budget oriented, sociable accommodation where guests can rent a bed, usually a bunk bed, in a dormitory and share a bathroom, lounge and a kitchen. Rooms can be mixed or single-sex, although private rooms may also be available.
1. Budget Accommodation. Around the world you’ll find more and more travelers are choosing to spend more on their experience and less on their comforts. Our hostel at Barcelona provides towels, sheets, a clean bathroom and a comfy bed – all more than adequate when it comes to stretching your travelling euro.
2. Social Hub. Barcelona Hostel is social hubs, attracting a diverse group of spirited people from all nationalities and of all ages. As odd as this sounds, I’ve checked out of five-star hotels and moved into hostels simply to meet people and share the experience of discovering a new place.
3. Facilities. Modern backpackers have been built ground up to offer every available convenience to the busy traveler. Lockers provide security; there are Internet terminals, laundry and full kitchen facilities. Board games and book exchanges all add more to your accommodation experience than just a bed and a bathroom.
4. Location. It’s easy to find our hostel, just follow fellow backpackers from the airport, train station or bus depot. Barcelona Urbany is located right in the action of your destination making it easy and convenient to discover a new city without the aid of taxis and buses.
5. Privacy. Nowadays, our hostel offer private rooms, offering one of the best kept deals in modern travel. At half the price of a regular hotel room, it’s possible to find a clean room with ensuite facilities, just like a cheap hotel. A private room in a good hostel is far bigger, cleaner and cooler than a bland room in a cheap hotel. Having your own room in a hostel gives you the best of three worlds – cheap, social, and private.
6. Internet Booking. Social networks, blogs and online forums provide sincere feedback from fellow travelers about the quality of the hostel. Then there are booking online on our website which has real-time user reviews and collated feedback about cleanliness, safety, location and atmosphere. |
