![]() In the run-up to summer, Barcelona is proving bolder than ever. This weekend, the festival Primavera Sound will be defying the credit crunch with a fantastic line-up (PJ Harvey, Interpol, P.I.L and Big Boi) and more than 250 concerts throughout the city. Do you want to find other Barcelona Backpackers? Come to our Barcelona Hostel this weekend, there's a city full of concerts to discover :) For the seventh consecutive year, the Parc del Fòrum will host a new edition of the San Miguel Primavera Sound, which will be extended by some 21,000 metres squared, compared to last year's event. This will allow audience sizes to be increased by some 20%. Of the 250 plus acts expected, performances by PJ Harvey, Interpol, P.I.L and Einstürzende Neubaten are among those that have been confirmed. Having attracted over a hundred thousand people last year, the Primavera Sound music festival is set to be extended in time for this year's event, which is being held from 25 to 29 May. The Fòrum grounds, which will host the majority of the 250 plus acts expected to perform on 26, 27 and 28 May, will be increased by a total of 21,000 metres squared, which will enable the festival to be equipped with more toilet facilities and a second large stage. This means that the Fòrum will have a total of twenty stages, two of them with a capacity of 20,000 people. Additionally, a new open-air cinema will also be opened this year. Primavera Sound will also be putting on performances in the Plaça Major of Poble Espanyol, the traditional home of the festival, on 25 and 29 May. For the first time this year, Primavera a la Ciutat presents San Miguel Primavera Sound als Bars and Primavera al Carrer, two initiatives that join the already traditional concerts in the underground and in different venues in the centre. Once again there will be special offers and discounts for car parks and an exclusive night bus shuttle service. For ecological transport lovers there will be free bicycle parking facilities at the entrance to the site. How to get from our Barcelona Hostel to Forum? Take the line T4-Ciutadella/Vila Olímpica - Estacio de Sant Adrià of Tramvia at the station Ca l'Aranyó and after 5 stops you must get off at Fòrum. We hope the city and our Hostel in Barcelona will provide you the best experience you can expect during your holidays.
