Human castles and flamenco, fusion in the "Feria de Abril"

The 40th Feria de Abril de Catalunya takes place at the Fòrum from 29 April to 8 May. This year the Feria will feature 70 stands, distributed over a 105,000 square metre site.  Human castles and flamenco will be filling up the Fòrum on Friday 29 April, from 10 pm onwards, when the 40th edition of the "Feria de Abril de Catalunya "Catalan April Seville Fair" will open and the traditional lighting will go on.

On that same Friday the FEFAC stand will see human castles from the Minyons de Terrassa go up, immediately after which it will play host to the Cadiz-born singer-songwriter José Anillo.

In its 40 anniversary, the Fair poster has enjoyed the cooperation of the famous fashion designer Custo Dalmau, who wanted to capture in the same detail of the city of Barcelona in particular are three worthy of identity: the lights of the Palau National Montjuïc, the Sagrada Familia and the mountain of Tibidabo, and is also dotted with the poster, floral motifs in different colors of Andalusian culture. This year's Feria, which ends on 8 May, will have 70 stands, distributed over a 105,000 square metre site, and 54 portable toilets.

This year's opening hours are as follows: from 6 pm to 4.15 am on 29 April; from 10 am to 2 am on week days and Sunday, 1 May; from 10 am to 4.15 am on Saturdays and Friday 6 May, and from 10 am to 10 pm Sunday 8 May.

The coordination centre (CECOR) will be in charge of safety and mobility both inside and outside the site. That means security groups will be establishing specific measures to boost safety and mobility during the days of the Feria, with extra vigilance.

How to get there from our Barcelona Hostel?  Take the line T4-Ciutadella/Vila Olímpica - Estacio de Sant Adrià of Tramvia at the station Ca l'Aranyó and after 5 stops you must get off at Forum Station on line 4.

Also, Urbany Hostels Barcelona recommended a typical bar where there are flamenco shows, called tablao.

The music and dance style, Flamenco, has very ancient origins and has been developed in Andalusia.
