La Festa al Cel, on Saturday and Sunday from 02.00 pm to 06.00 pm, the sky from the beaches of Barcelona will be filled with over 40 different air shows. Stunts in the sky, free flights, Second World War aircrafts and even a real rescue at sea by a coastguard helicopter! At the official event website Festaalcel.com you'll get all the information on the event, performers, program and attractions (in english). How to reach the beaches from our Barcelona Hostel? Take the Renfe train line C1 at El Clot-Arago Station, at a 5 minutes walking distance from our Barcelona Hostel, and get off at Arc de Triomf. From there take the bus line number 41 at the Trafalgar, 58, stop, and get off and after 9 stops at Avda. Icària - Frederic Mompou. You'll be at the Nova Icaria beach, one of the stages of the air show. There will be a shuttle bus service connecting all the beaches where the air shows will take place. And what's best for Barcelona Backpackers staying at our Barcelona Hostel: the show's free! Our Barcelona Hostel also recommends you the Festa Major de La Rambla: It is the festivity of the most emblematic street of Barcelona, the Rambla. It will be hosting multiple free activities for all Barcelona Backpackers who want to have a good time and discover catalan traditions without spending too much money. There will be performances of castellers, a popular chocolate and a free concert at the Jamboree. Take the RENFE train line C1 at the El Clot-Arago station, and get off two stops in Pça Catalunya. You'll find La Rambla just in front of you. Finally, Montjuic will be hosting the Outdoor Sports Experience during this weekend: staying at our Barcelona Hostel and missing some action? Are you a Barcelona Backpacker who likes extreme sports and outdoor adventure? Then you should not miss out The Outdoor Sports Experience, an event that offers a wide variety of proposals where everyone can participate. There will be sheduled activities like an orienteering race, a Nordic walking or the BTT Kids Cup, as well as a night race over the mountains. You'll also find ongoing activities both on Saturday and Sunday morning: diving, a road course across the mountain biking, climbing, racing kayaks, introduction to windsurfing, ballooning, flying ... How to get from our Barcelona Hostel to Montjuic? Take the Metro line L1 at el Clot / Arago station, and get off after 7 stops in Urgell station. From there, take the bus line number 50 (in Gran Via / Urgell) and get off after 9 stops, at the Piscines Bernat Picornell stop.
