The XVI Manga Fair, recommended by our Barcelona Hostel this weekend

Our Barcelona Hostel recommends you one of the most international events taking place this weekend in the city: the XVI edition of the Manga Fair ... Japan invades Barcelona from today until next Monday. If you like Japanese book drawings, anime, comic superheroes, video games, movies and stories with all kinds of topics containing the background of Japanese culture, take a walk around the fair.

For those staying at our Barcelona Hostel who are really manga addicted, there are lots activities and events scheduled: exhibitions, karaoke contests, a wide area for video games, musical performances, screenings of anime, traditional Japanese games workshops or modeling workshops. Among the fair highlights, the presentation of the video game Fable III, exclusive to Xbox, by its creator, the game guru Peter Molyneux, as well as the attendace of Kenji Kamiyama (illustrator of Akira, director and screenwriter of Ghost in the Shell), and the representative of shojo manga Yushizumi Wataryu.

Where to go? To La Farga de l'Hospitalet, where three areas have been enabled to host the fair, the three of them connected by a shuttle bus.

How to get there from our Barcelona Hostel? Take RENFE line C2-Montcada i Reixac / El Prat de Llobregat at El Clot-Arago station -100 meters from our Barcelona Hostel- and after 2 stops get off at Sants station. From there, take the RENFE line C3-Montcada Ripollet / L'Hospitalet de Llobregat and get off in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat.

The price? 6 euros, great for backpackers staying at our Barcelona Hostel!  You can buy online your ticket or at the fair ticket office. You'll get a manga comic for free with your ticket. And just for today, if you visit the Fair dressed up as a manga, anime or video game character, the antrance is free. Are you staying at our Barcelona Hostel? Then dress you up like a real manga character and take a walk around the fair :)
